I try to never use green screen when working with pretty much any of the
OSS stuff. The top two irritations in my life are CCSID 37 and the wrong
end-of-line characters.

For editing tasks, I map a network drive in Windows to the IFS folder I
want to work with, and then use a PC editor to do the work. Notepad++
is very light weight, and I love RDi... but consider trying Orion
(another OSS offering from IBM) for Node/Javascript. That doesn't
require setting up a PC, so you can use Orion from any PC in the
organisation - great for doing demos, lunch & learns, etc.
