Greetings.
Sounds like some confusion in the statement below. While yea, the YAJL
support is widely used and has been available for a while, the IBM i
operating system has continued to deliver new features and functions. The
statement below about the JSON support being java based is not correct.
The Db2 for i has delivered a full and wide range of JSON support that is
native to the IBM i. It runs on the ILE side, but instead of an
additional component, its operating system code. Things like JSON_Table,
JSON_Object and many others. Fully supported with your IBM i software
maintenance
Db2 for i does also have some SYSTOOLS functions that can be leveraged,
these are also fully supported, and these are built today on Java. They
can be leveraged for calling a REST Api for examples directly from an RPG
or COBOL program. But the support for manipulating the actual JSON
payloads... that is native code.

Try docNode = yajl_buf_load_tree(%addr(RdiRec) : RdiRecLen : errMsg);
from YAJL
I use in in 100's of programs.
The sql JSON is Java based and I have find more issues with java on the
iseries then Scotts programs.
also Scott give better support.. __
