I manipulate the library list inside my application using some ILE
functions I wrote a long time agot (pushLib and popLib mainly.. I also have
ones that set the LL depending on a job description).

I've always found that to be the best way, at least for me.

Thanks for this Brad. I've been looking at your example of a simple .config
file. How are you accomplishing the setting up of the library list for the
programs on the i?
For the moment I've just hard coded a CHGLIBL command in the beginning of
the program named in the script alias. I was thinking of making this
dynamic by getting a named library list depending on the server instance
being used (I'm assuming the job name is always the same as the name of the
server instance). For example,
RTVJOBA JOB(&name)
CALL LIBL_PGM(&name) /* Does a CHGLIBL depending on the name of the job.

I like to make a separate instance for testing and live. Either on a
different port or a different IP address (using a different
host/subdomain).

So there would be:

mysite.com (live)
dev.mysite.com (dev/test) or (mysite.com:8433)

Each with their own instance, ip address, library and IFS files.

Hello,

I need to configure the server so that that the external party can commence
testing.
I've seen examples where a ScriptAlias is simply added to the server
configuration in order to simply call the test program (change library
lists, etc).
It's also been suggested to use activation groups but that would need a lot
more work to make sure everything is running only in that activation group.
