I see what you mean by daunting -- MAN, they didn't even provide a
base of valid postal codes or states! The maintenance program they
provided puts the city names in upper case (ought to look really good
next to mixed-case names and addresses). Trying to find the
maintenance programs for all of the dependent fields has been no
picnic either. I once wrote a package to track barges along the
Mississippi and its tributaries that I thought was difficult. OLM
makes the latter look like a piece of cake!
I'd recommend asking SSA for a reference that's using the package, and
ask the reference where they got all this data.
