In most cases, SSA will tell you the new 520 is bigger than the 830 and
they therefore need you to purchase OGS to get the key. We have been a
hardware reseller for SSA, and they are pretty adamant about that. I may
also have some other ideas for you. Please call me to discuss.

Hello all,
We are running BPCS 6.0.04 on a iSeries 830, software level P30, OS rev
V5R2. We are not on OGS. I am examining my options regarding upgrade
of my iSeries toward the end of the year and am hoping to get some
feedback on what I can and cannot do with the box given that I will not
be able to get a new key from SSA.
Our IBM reseller is telling me that I can upgrade to one of the new
boxes (520) and keep the same serial number while dropping to a P20
software level. What they can't tell me with any certainty is whether
BPCS will run under the same license key. Anyone have any experience
with this?
Thanks,
Jim Reinardy,
