I would recommend the usual hardware prep. There is a manual on this. I forget the title, perhaps 'Planning for your hardware' or some such thing. It covers things like: electrical, terminals, modems, phone lines, and so on. Get some education. The usual 'Intro to Notes' stuff and the ilk. Or was your BP going to do that on your site using your equipment? If so, then get specifications for a training room. Perhaps you want to get Notes Administration or Application Development training. I would recommend using an LAEC or Lotus Authorized Education Center for Administration or Ap Dev. Is this your first Domino server? Are you hooking up your email to the Internet? I see you already have a highsmith.com email address. If that is in house then are you going to transfer the email to Domino, or is this moot since this is not your first Domino server. sjohnson@highsmith.com on 02/18/2000 01:20:12 PM Please respond to DOMINO400@midrange.com@Internet To: DOMINO400@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: The order is in the mail We have placed an order for a Domino Dedicated AS/400. We also placed the order for Domino thru IBM as a Licensed Program (couldn't resist that $1900 bargain for Enterprise edition). This box will be used for email, calendaring, and development. Questions: Since Domino was ordered as an LP will it come pre loaded? Our BP is not real sure. What prep should we do before the box arrives at our door? Any tips to share? Any things to watch out for? Any info you want to share will be greatly appreciated!! -- THANKS ------------------------------------------------------ Scott P.
