This is a big one. You do need to be sure your server is active. Also, if this was just added to the 400, be sure that you add this server to the startup program, otherwise you will have problems after your next IPL. I can ping to the server name or the TCP/IP address of the server from the client workstation without any problems and I have added both the name and TCP/IP to the host file on my workstation.
