We use the technique entitled 'Scheduled Pattern Update' found on page 9-4
of the 'Trend Micro ScanMail 2 for Lotus Notes' Administrators Guide.
Document part no.:SNEM20491/90909 Release Date: September 1999.

Basically it's hands off. It downloads the file for you automatically.
We've got more useful things for our people to do than click icons.

We were informed by Trend Micro that the pattern file that runs in the
400's scan engine is the same one that is listed for NT (Intel & DEC
Alpha). We have actually never seen a pattern file listed as current for
an AS/400 platform. Whenever we do a pattern file update, we always
download the Intel & DEC Alpha file and manually place it in the smency.nsf
database. Then we run PUPDATE to update the pattern file into the scan
engine. (Now I'm a little confused!)

I don't think 805 is 400 ready yet. I ran the PUPDATE procedure and it
said that we were current. I went to their website and it only lists NT,
Eunuch, Dec Alpha. Did you see 805 announced for the 400?

Hello all!!

I noticed this morning that Trend Micro has an updated virus pattern
file on their website (ver. 805). Since the major problem with 803
yesterday locking up Domino and forcing us to perform an IPL in middle of
the business day, needless to say we are a little nervous to download the
updated pattern. Has anyone else downloaded 805 with normal results? (Not
too anxious to become another guinea pig on this!!) :-)
