We are running V4R5, cum 00294 and Domino 5.0.5. Your best bet would be to contact Trend Micro. Beware of how you check which level of pattern file you are running. My boss, the Trend Micro installer and administrator among many many other hats, pulled up this GUI screen that showed 803 and some other level. I explained to him that one of our many Domino partitions had downloaded the 803, and yes the database you are looking at is replicated to all other servers, however the attachment is not automatically detached and installed. Actually quite well documented in the manual. Being the green screen bigot that I am. I did a WRKDOMSVR-8 and then TELL TMMSCAN QUIT and LOAD TMMSCAN. Then I watched. Lo, the message 'MailScan is using pattern file version ...' appeared. And let me tell you the version was really ancient. Then from WRKDOMSVR I used option 12 and showed him the lpt* files. He saw the light. My new #1 project was to propagate the 801 version to all partitions. And RTFM and set it up to automatically do this, after the version on the website is cleansed ;-) Rob Berendt ================== Remember the Cole! gcrane@johansonmfg .com To: DOMINO400@midrange.com Sent by: cc: owner-domino400@mi Subject: Re: Trend Micro drange.com 11/29/00 07:59 AM Please respond to DOMINO400 We had 803 installed and had run pupdat and had no AS400 problems. I have since disabled and removed 803, but could it be that the OS400 ptf levels made it so I did not have a problem? Or would the version of Domino have an impact? We are at OS400 v4r4 & Domino 4.6.5. What did happen is that my Domino server dropped in the middle of the day. The other person might have had a separate issue. But then if you're like us and you have a dedicated 400 for Domino and the one application it runs is dead then an IPL is not much worse. I am kind of curious as to why they had to IPL. In general I am really happy with Trend Micro's Scan Mail for Lotus Notes on the 400. It is the premier product out there and I am not sure if there is even ANY competition. Sure they kind of messed up on this one. Sounds like they've learned though. They are testing the pattern files more before releasing them for the 400. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Or. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Haven't we all oopsed in the past? But if I see those problems , i'am not so sure anymore. I can not imagin whats going to happen if I have to do an IPL in the middle of the day. Are there other good solutions ?
