If you use Notes clients on Windows workstations you have already data
traffic over the line.
We use have installed localy on a Windows NT TerminalServer with
CitrxMetaframe all Windows applications, also the Notes client. The users
have only a thin client (by us IBM NetworkStations) so that they have no
programs and no data on their workstation. The only data transfert over the
network and for the remote users over the line are the compressed screens
and the data entrys. On the same line and with the same Networkstations
each user has 3 AS/400 and 3 3270 sessions (= 6 green screens). Also
attached over the line are 20 printers. With 30 remote users we have a good
performance over 128 KBs.

Will you be using the Notes client, or will they be using the Web client
for
their email?  Also will there be large attachments and graphics?

Hello all,

We are planning our Domino Installation. The server will be an AS/400
running Domino natively. My question is: Approximately how much bandwidth
would be required to support 50 mail users over a WAN to a single location
as well as about 50 mail users at the host location. I know this is a very
broad question and there are quite a few variables. I'm just looking for a
rule of thumb. The communications link will also transport green screen
traffic. Protocol will be all IP.
