Walter,

Thanks for the reply.

No, there is nothing else that seems to be affected by our comms link.

I really didn't want to use the Notes client, or any other email client for
that matter, to provide email to some of our users. Outlook Express is, I
think, a good package that provides all we need for most of our users. It is
just that we need the Address Book functionality on the client.

Anyway, will keep trying.

Thanks again Walter.

Nathan,
I think you answered your own question. You stated that LDAP requests
work fine from the local subnet. Assuming you are using Outlook Express I
would suggest looking at your network. Are other client/server
communications affected when accessed from a remote subnet?

Hi,

This may be nothing to do with Outlook Express and it may be just our slow
communications link but anyway.

I have setup our LDAP server on our 4.6 Domino server to have a wait time
of
0 (no timeout).

Is anyone using LDAP on their Domino Server with Outlook Express. When I
type in a name it says can't find the person.

I have changed the timeout to 1 minute but still nothing, occasionally I
get
a response. I mean 1 out of 20 tries.

It works fine on the local subnet but we need it to work everywhere.

Does anyone know of a way to make the search wait forever in Outlook
Express?

TIA

Nathan Simpson
