Hi Gary,
There is no problem with r5 clients accessing a *.nsf on
an r6 server regardless of the ODS.  As I recall, you are
free to replicate *.nsf between r5 and r6 servers as the
ODS does not replicate. It is simply the format of the
physical file the server uses. That said, you need to be
mindful that features introduced in forward releases
are not available to post clients, but that is obvious.  If you
are still concerned as to the compatibility, you always
have the option holding a particular ODS by renaming
the *.nsf to *.ns4 for r4 or ns5 for r5.  For more detail on
this, I refer you to the help files, where it is thoroughly
discussed.
