Ah, another VB developer.

That change event is exactly what I went looking for at first and was very disappointed to never find. Now for a web client there are lots of useful settings, they just don't work for the Notes client :-(

I've never done Domino development, but some VB work. Is there a Change event in Domino? In VB, at least, this can be used for validation - keep a count of characters every time the contents changes. Kludgy but might work.

Rob,

I think what Roger is really looking for is that the field validation be
done as the user types in the field. Sure the iSeries can do the
validation, but I think that is too late for what he is looking to achieve.

It would be great if Lotus would add field validation to the Designer
client. So, if I would add a field to a Form, the properties dialog would
have another tab for validation. On that tab I could set-up validation
based on the field type. Things like max length for text fields or min and
max numbers. I think the enablement of the events in Notes 6 will solve a
lot of the validation problems most people have though.
