To all:

I keep our domino subsystems in separate memory pools. We also have the
system value QPFRADJ (performance adjustment) set to zero. When we ran
R5, the activity level on the WRKSYSSTS screen was set to 100. All was
well, everyone was getting sub-second response times. When we upgraded to
6.X, I noticed several threads were going from an Active state to
Ineligible, even before we let any users on the system! So, I cranked the
Max Act (number of concurrent active threads) up to 200 and things went
back to normal, users have continued to receive sub-second response times
since the upgrade.

Those of you experiencing less than desirable response times after
upgrading may want to consider increasing the number of active threads for
the memory pool(s) where your Domino server(s) run (whether your have a
separate memory pool, or they run in *BASE). You may also need to set
your QPFRADJ system value to zero or one. If you increase the activity
level (Max Act) without changing your QPFRADJ system value to zero or one,
the system is more than likely to drop your activity level back down.

I hope this helps somebody,

Scott
