Now, they may block pings, but at least it should resolve the name to an
ip address unless there is a DNS issue.

Let's say their email domain name is mycompany.com. Then punch in
mycompany.com into
http://www.zmailer.org/mxverify-cgi.html
and see what their mail servers are. You might have to ping those instead
of mycompany.com.

If the mail server's domain name is what I think it is, no.

Thanks,

Did that. Only gets as far as the SMTP Server. I did a trace to my home
ISP's account. No problems there.

Sounds like a network issue, at this point. You may want to try a tracert
from your Domino server console as well, pointing to the domain name of
the mail message you are trying to send.

Nope. When I do a TELL ROUTER SH, I get Waiting for DNS availability. I
guess this would make sense, but not sure what may have changed from last
week.

Screwy situation

Hi all,

I'm trying to send mail to a person to whom I send mail all the time. But
now, the messages just sit in the SMTP mail.box. I cannot see anywhere in
the log where the SMTP server is trying to deliver the mail. I can send
mail to anyone else, and he is receiving from everyone else. Any idea what
may be happening, or what I may check?

Thanks,

Mark
