You were right, when you purchase a BlackBerry without BES, they provide 
you with access to other mail systems using POP. The POP port was already 
open and accessible, so after configuring the BB on the Verizon website, I 
was able to get the users Domino mail to come in as well as the stock 
Verizon mail. The drawback? A lag of 5 to 20 minutes for Domino mail to 
appear on the BlackBerry.

Mail is fine, calendar and scheduling is another matter. Hopefully, they 
will see fit to purchase a BES license and do this the "right way." :-) 
But until then, the BB is working.
