This is basically what I sent their IT guy:

I saw a big difference in your forward. I forgot how close your system is
like ours. The mail that we are not receiving has something related other
than the content of html. It is from your iSeries. Perhaps email
generated directly from your iSeries cannot go to us and whether or not it
contains html is irrelevant? Can you send us a non html email from your
iSeries? We have a custom command in our library ROUTINES called
SNDEMAIL. Perhaps you have that library also? If not, then you might get
by with the standard i5 command SNDDST.

Another great method to test connection is to try the following. I
figured this out by going to
http://www.zmailer.org/mxverify-cgi.html
and punching in dekko.com in the first prompt.

TELNET RMTSYS('216.82.241.67') PORT(25)
220 server-9.tower-95.messagelabs.com ESMTP
ehlo
250-server-9.tower-95.messagelabs.com
250-STARTTLS
250-PIPELINING
250 8BITMIME
mail from:<>
250 OK
rset
250 flushed
mail from:<scotty@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
250 OK
rcpt to:<rob@xxxxxxxxx>
250 OK
quit

Let's see if the connection from your iSeries works. I know the i5 quite
well.

There's additional testing that can be done.
