This just hit me this morning. I have a WPS environment that is on the
same 570 as our data warehouse and domino environments. I'm modifying
the system to use virtual Ethernet to connect what I'm going to call the
base servers (server1 to server2) for base connectivity and RDB
functions.

I also server Domino applications to our Portal. It occurred to me that
these servers could be potentially connected to the WPS environment via
virtual Ethernet. I think there will be a benefit (performance,
reliability) to serving those apps internally vs. externally.

I'm just not sure of the necessary configuration changes to accomplish
this. Is it just a simple changes to the NOTES.INI configuration
(actual IP addresses changed to protect the innocent):

Today

Ports=TCPIP

TCPIP=TCP, 0, 15, 0

TCPIP_TCPIPAddress=0,10.33.52.1:1352:80

Future

Ports=TCPIP, TCP1P2

TCPIP=TCP, 0, 15, 0

TCPIP_TCPIPAddress=0,10.33.52.1:1352:80

TCPIP2=TCP, 0, 15, 0

TCPIP2_TCPIPAddress=0, 192.168.12.1:80

Would this allow the WPS server to hit the server across the virtual
Ethernet or are there other changes that have to occur in the Server
Config. Document?

TCPIP is to allow clients to access the server for lotus apps (clients)
and domino apps (browser). TCPIP2 is to allow the WPS server to connect
to the domino apps (browser).

With virtual eth. I have always just paid attention to basic server to
server connectivity and I have not extended it to other application
servers. Also, I have a Domino server functioning as my LDAP server so
I'm also looking at extending connectivity from the WPS environment to
that server in the future (port 389).
