Also, IMHO this is where Domino absolutely beats the %(&$ out of
Exchange. So far as I know the only way to cluster Exchange is with
shared storage. This is very expensive and complicated to maintain. It
also means the clustered units need to be in the same building and if
that shared storage fails then your mail is off the air period. Domino
does this with half it's functions tied behind it's back on a very basic
configuration. And as others explained Domino doesn't give a whit if
the servers in the cluster run the same or vastly different OSs.
I could be wrong on Exchange's capabilities, but it's been only months
since a trusted M$ guru friend explained this to me.
