And this brings up another question...
Should you use RUNDOMCMD for a particular DPAR while that partition is
active? I've always thought that this command was for running tasks while
the server is down, and SBMDOMCMD was the right one to use while the
server was up.

If RUNDOMCMD is OK to use while the server is up, that would be nice as
you could monitor messages from that task all in one place (ie, not all
mixed in the console), and monitor for when the task has completed.
Perfect for longer running tasks and a busy console!

RUNDOMCMD apparently tries to verify the command. If the command is not a

valid operating system command it fails. See the help:
The Run Domino Command (RUNDOMCMD) command runs an operating system CL
command in the context of a particular Domino server..."

You might try SBMDOMCMD instead.
