I think I can wait awhile for that one. Now I need to catch my breath and
tie up the loose ends and start the roll out to clients (the MIS guinea
pigs first).
I did reinstall Scan Mail 3.0 last night with patch 3 build 5316, and even
after SM Support assured me that my activation code was valid, I still got
invalid activation code messages during the install. (I wonder why they
try to edit the activation code since I don't see how it could validate
itself if the product isn't even installed???) After the install and
server restart I entered the activation code in the config db and as of
this morning it had 'magically' activated itself and after I updated my
config db settings it updated every component. It was very nice how it all
'just happened' after I did the config updates. I didn't even have to stop
and restart smdreal.
I did check the Trend site and they do show a new scan engine being
available as of April 17, 2008 (version 8.700). I had planned on
installing that tonight but I think I'll wait awhile and see if it gets
updated automatically.
