Roger, with the $k they've saved in the past, they can just buy a BES
server. :) Just get a Domino Messaging License, BES license, Windows license
+ BES CALs, and an beefy workstation (depending on how many BES users we're
talking about). Even if you want to buy a new wintel box, you're still
talking probably under 10k for the whole shebang...

Gregg,

I should have listed that I think calendar is one of the things they
also want on their Blackberry and that I don't really want to open the
firewall for IMAP. Never taken the time either to make sure if you have
to open SMTP for sending or if it is a capability of IMAP. They won't
like POP as they want to keep emails in their mail files and have some
folders with 100s of messages.

I can hear the screams that they shouldn't be keeping that much in the
mail files and should at least be using an archive file, but they have
saved $k by being able to quickly retrieve an _old_ moldy email to prove
their point. And they are C-level.

Roger:

You can use POP/IMAP to access Domino mail. But you have to open the port
on the firewall and enable the service on Domino. You also have to enable
the Domino mail file for IMAP by issuing the following command:

load convert -e maildirectory\mailfilename

They can send and receive mail as if they are connected to your network.
But there won't be any calendar integration.
