On our Domino Health Check we got dinged by some of our OS file
authorities being wrong. An obvious error was mail8.ntf was owned by me
instead of QNOTES. I think I ftp'ed up a patched template from IBM.

A thought I have is bring the servers down, then run
CHGOWN '/servername/NOTES/DATA' NEWOWN(QNOTES) SUBTREE(*ALL)
CHGAUT '/servername/NOTES/DATA' USER(*PUBLIC) DTAAUT(*EXCLUDE)
OBJAUT(*NONE) SUBTREE(*ALL)

Is there any reason I should NOT do this?
