Are you already using a third party dedup product or is that just geeky
ramblings? If you aren't already using one then I can't recommend using
one. If you are, I'd check out the maintenance cost and evaluate
disposing of it.

We had gotten bad and had clients on a wide variety of client versions.
We've eliminated that. Some were really old PC's still running Windows
2000 and couldn't get newer clients. There were a plethora of other
reasons. All addressed. If they needed newer hardware - it was obtained.
We put everyone through training (well, it's a long story...). Then we
upgraded PC's manually. Now we use "Smart Upgrade" and keep everyone
updated. I even keep track of event monitoring. If a client connects on
with an older release I am on it. Recently we had a really old client
(8.5.1FP5) connect {yes, I'm bragging that we consider that a really old
client}. Turns out it was IBM connecting in remotely to do their Domino
Health Check that we've contracted them for. Now everyone has a current
template, client, DAOS, etc.
