Thanks Guys,

That's from an email that won't arrive until sometime in September. But
since the boss saw the word "subscription" he's thinking it means we are
subscribing to a service which will expire if we don't pay, and by not
paying we would lose our access to our email system. He's asked an IBM
business partner to confirm.

BTW I just received 8.5.3 on CD yesterday and will install the client on
my pc at home this weekend, and here at work when I upgrade to WIN7 next
week. I do intend to roll it out to some other users as well.

The rush isn't there yet, but Exchange is definitely out - he's looking at
Zimbra from VMWARE.

He will be sending us his proposal which he will forward to our exec
committee and has asked we review it first and indicate if we think it's a
good idea or not.

I will make my case at that time, that no matter what we change to, some
users will still grumble, and that we know how well domino has been over
the years in terms of stability and low admin costs and as I pointed out
yesterday that since we 'don't know what we don't know', I sure hope that
if we migrate that we don't end up having to hire an email admin down the
road just to manage something that was pretty much hands free for the last
10 years, which will in terms of TCO will end up costing more.

Change for changes sake isn't always a good thing.

Thanks, Jerry
