[LINUX5250] executing datastream commands

Hello all,

i got a BDE station which connects over tn5250 (tn5250_b0-16) to an 
AS/400. The OS of the BDE is LINUX. There is (for example) a hardware 
counter connected to the BDE over the V.24/RS232 interface.

I found some interesting papers on the Developer Resource page.

Now i am searching/fetching informations on sending datastreams to the 
tn5250 emu, to initiate an (read-)action on the connected devices to get 
e.g. the counter value. The value should be inserted into a field on the 
tn5250 screen like a manual input.
Another example is to get a datastream from the AS/400 to play a 
sound(file).

Is there already an implemented function/option to do this?

Has anybody got experiences with such a function?

If this is not already implemented, any ideas on how to doing this, 
writing an external prog or putting this functionality into the tn5250?
