Hello all, perhaps somebody out here would care to share abt how they would manage their Query/400 definitions if they're one like ours, whereby many Query/400 reports are scheduled for various departments everydays, weekly, monthly etc.
As we do not have any HLL compilers on AS/400, a report may usually require numerous Query definitions to produce one. Presently, we track changes and updates using an Excel worksheet, updating attributes like the Report's receipient/s, Report decription, Input PFs, Output PF, Printer Device, etc. - This is definitely tedious and not productive.
The next sensible thing we could think of is to migrate the worksheet onto the AS/400 as a PF; but what we really think is the ultimate, is to have something somehow monitoring changes to the definitions and updating the PF automatically.
Any bright ideas or tools out there ?
