Exit Points and API's

Does anyone know if there is an exit point to which an exit program can be 
assigned that will allow me to capture the label information when tapes are 
written? Or is there an API that can be used to do that?

We are running V3R2 on a AS/400 320/4 and we are current on all PTFs.
