Many thanks to Ed Smith at IO products for clearing up my problem. With the 8251EH card, we were loading the twinax adapter handler and Netsoft twinax extenstion in WINSTART.BAT. Ed suggested we move this to AUTOEXEC.BAT. Apparently the problem is Windows is doing something between processing AUTOEXEC and WINSTART that programs in WINSTART are not as stable. The symptoms: After Windows 95 is loaded, go to a DOS prompt and type MEM/C. If NSTWINAX and CONNAH *don't* appear in the list, the programs are being loaded from WINSTART. After I moved these programs to AUTOEXEC, everything works great. Just some more final testing, and I'll be pretty happy with the setup. I'm not that familiar with the WIN95 startup process, and I'm curious to know what happens between AUTOEXEC processing and WINSTART processing that may cause this problem... Again, thank you Ed Smith for the help! Goddess knows it's expensive enough to upgrade to Windows 95 without the added expense of twinax adapters! - lg - -- "Do you follow all their rules?" --Sydney "Do you break them all?" --Morgan lgoodbar@tecinfo.com ICQ#504581 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
