Hi, I am investigating connecting our E10 to the internet and would appreciate any help with the following questions. The system is an 9404 E10 with a twinax controller and a basic communications controller ( 6152 ). The main goals are to provide reliable remote access (low transactions) for 12 hours per day and occasional (weekly) large file transfers. Question 1. What is the best (best=fastest and safest access for least $) approach to take? What are the +'s and -'s of each approach. 1.A. Use a PC connected via twinax and CA/400 to the AS/400 for connecting to the ISP? ( +'s= lots of firewall options, cheap fast modems, ...?, -'s= ?) 1.B. Use the 6152 comm. controller 1.C. Use the upcoming firewall card? (will it work on CISC box?) 1.D. Use ???
