I know that I have seen tips on how to do this but can't come up with the technique now. I want to have the color of the text in my message to be displayed in red. I send a critical message from a batch job to QSYSOPR and it gets lost amongst all the message traffic. I don't want the sending job to wait on a reply as it would with an *INQ type msg. Currently my code does: SNDPGMMSG MSGID(CPF9897) MSGF(QCFPMSG) MSGDTA(&MSG) TOUSR(QSYSOPR) I have tried this: DCL &RED *CHAR 1 VALUE(X'28') CHGVAR &MSG (&RED || &MSG) But the hex char does not set the attribute for color and is only shown as an odd character. -- Doug Hart E-mail: dhart@vcomm.net __ * Team Amiga Home page: http://www.vcomm.net/~dhart/ __ / / Amiga pioneer Work = IBM's AS/400 & Play = Amiga A2500 \_X_/ since 1986. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
