We purchased 3 IBM Network Stations around the first of Sept. They
are 8361 -210 which is a model 300 with a token ring interface. It
has been a month, and we still cannot get them up and working. I
was hoping this would be a solution to the PC problem. One answer I
got was get a bigger CPU!!! We have a RISC 510 with an IPCS running
Novell and a FSIOP card that I have been trying to setup as a small
Lotus Notes Server. We've installed the PTF package required for
NetStations - and even some that were later than the PTF package. We
get a signon screen for the Netstation, then about an hour later
finally get the menu bar. We NEVER get an application running.
(Select 5250 from the menu bar and the little clock comes up never to
go away again.) We have an open problem number but sure haven't
resolved the problem. We do have our 400 connected to a local ISP
for E-mail, therefore are using a multihoming function - (2 ip
addresses for same host - internal and external).
1: Has anyone else had this difficulty?
2: Where can we find the API TOOLKIT? Instructions for the network
station have a PTF listed for the API Toolkit which I cannot find.
Thanks - Carole Houghton
