The FTP process is faster but you lose the complete connection with PTF history on the 400, which is something I don't like losing. I do, though, download with FTP first, until I'm comfortable. Still, IMO, this whole thing is UGLY and STUPID. It's an example of new features tossing out long-established and, IMO again, GOOD AS/400 practices and standards.
