As others have said, the answer is no. However, I think there's another
way, using a SELECT statement with output to TABLEA. The SELECT statement
might be

select transno, cusnoa, btextdata
  from tablea, tableb
  where cusnoa = cusnob

or (v3r7+)

select transno, cusnoa, btextdata
  from tablea join tableb
  on cusnoa = cusnob

If you have this in a QMQRY, you can STRQMQRY OUTPUT(*OUTFILE)
OUTFILE(tablea) and the contents of your original file will be replaced, in
situ. Obviously, this is risky, so be careful. Test on a copy first. I've
found this 'feature' useful for in-place sorts. Very powerful AND extremely
dangerous!
