One way to do this is to set up remote communications on a PC that has
terminal emulation to the AS/400 on it. You could use something like
PC/Anywhere on the PC side. Another way to go about this is to run an
interactive program on the console that contains the commands that you
want executed at a particular time. You would have a DLYJOB statement as
the first command. This has worked for me but you need to babysit the
job a couple of times to make sure that you catch any gotcha errors.
Gee, come to think of it, I wonder if Pete M. or Glenn might be able to
think of a product that might do this... hmmm.

Subject: Remote AS/400 Console

One of my customer would like to dial in to his AS/400 from home and do
a SAVSYS, SAVNONSYS and SAVDLO and IPL the systems.

Does anyone know how to do this?? Any special software required on the
PC side?

Please respond to my email at mitch@elcamino.com

Thanks!!
