How proactive vs reactive is he? It's boring to have a well defined plan. Stamping out fires is a lot more exciting. ;-) It will still take some man/computer hours to solve the problem. Take an inventory of the applications and ask yourself if you can be ready by spending one day per week for the next two years. If not, try two days, three days a week. Without the impact study you'll just be guessing and can you afford to be wrong. As an experiment, turn off your computer for a week. Did it impact the way you do business? Did the company lose money? The same might occur if your order entry application suddenly decides that all customers are delinquent and credit holds all incoming sales orders and the shipping department/warehouse are standing around with nothing to do. But then again, that's just another adrenaline inducing fire. The joys of battle! ;-) Happy holidays. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
