To prepare for this, you can begin setting up your user files with 8
digit or date data type fields now.  Premenos can handle the conversion
from the transmitted six bytes into the new fields.

        The latest X12 standard, 4010, specifies an 8 digit date
(yyyymmdd).  It
        is up to each set of trading partners to decide whether they
wish to go
        to this standard.
