Darlene,

%TRIMR removes blanks from the right of the argument. Eval left justifies the
result from the right
side of the "=" into the target specified on the left side of the "=". If you
want a right justified
value and you want to use %trimr you need something like:

eval value = ' Toronto, Ontario '
 * to shorten the example *

eval %substr(location: %len(location) - %len(%trimr(value)) + 1:
%len(trimr(value))) = %trimr(value)

This is pretty close to what you have but the target is a substring of Location
that is the length of
the trimmed value. There are other, simpler, more straight forward ways to
right a field though.

LOCATION will have the value ' Toronto, Ontario'.

                  EVAL LOCATION = %TRIMR(' Toronto, Ontario ')

This doesn't work like it's supposed to. The result is left-justified
(with the leading blank), not right-justified. Any ideas or suggestions?
