Interesting view Vernon....
That is what several of the programmers here at my company think too.
Personally I find it easier to hit the attention key and jump to another
group job.
I guess that comes from being very comfortable working from the key
board
as opposed to working with a mouse. I find it slower to use the mouse to
switch 
between several different windows on my PC screen....
The fact that a group job environment is more efficient from a "system
resource"
point of view is a plus for my way of doing things too...   :)
