Yes, and some of this has come from people that turned on "auto-responders" on
their e-mail prior to leaving for vacation or other reasons.  Please remove
yourself from the list(s) if you're going to leave for an extended period.

I myself suffered greatly from this malady when I first joined the list.  I
didn't have a laptop at the time, and responded as I read (in arrival
sequence) rather than seeing what was out there first -- often a week or more
after the original post, due to the amount of time I spend out of town.  I
graduated to deleting responses that were duplicate (when I remembered), and
later to not responding at all until all mail was read (although this means
that I sometimes forget to respond to people that received none at all).

I _USED_ to have people on the list chastise me off-line during this
"adjustment" period, does this not happen any more?
