Bob, I think updating in SQL needs journal, But If ASP of journal receiver and one of table are the same, it makes more overhead. The separation of data ASP and journal receiver ASP is effective for journal performance. And FRCRATIO(*NONE) of table is recommended. If query performance is bad and you use V4R3, Encoded Vector Index may be good for it. It is a kind of bitmap index. # Just today, I hear about Encoded Vector Index from IBM Jpn. ## I hear %%BINARY%% on Exec directive today too. Sorry, Brad. Thanks. -- Ken Yamasaki Yokohama Kanagawa,JAPAN ML/400(in Japanese only)=>http://www.tama.or.jp/~yamaken/ml400/ BTW, if my English is too poor to your understanding, would you point out any errors to me? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
