Here is one method. I am not at an AS/400, so if anything is too vague, let me
know.
1. Create a nessage queue to use for writer messages.
2. When writers are started, specify the new message queue in the STRPRTWTR
command.
3. Write a program that does a RCVMSG from the new message queue. The program 
can
examine the
    message data and Message ID to determine what action to take. Make it a
neverending program.
