Carole,

        When I've had problems analyzing MSF and SMTP issues in the past, IBM 
support has had me turn on the "flight recorders".  If I
remember correctly, I did this by either creating or changing a data area.  A 
search of the support Web site should produce some
information.  Just be sure to turn them back off after a reasonable amount of 
time.  You can eat DASD rather quickly.  This is a
tool designed to help analyze what is going on with the distribution of mail.  
You will probably need documentation or assistance
analyzing the data produced.

  We often get the following message in the jobs for QMSF.
When MSF stops processing a message, does it continue
processing other messages?  Nothing really tells you what
is wrong or what the solution is.  We find ourselves stopping and
starting TCP *SMTP and DOMINO SMTP and MSF *RESET
to make mail flow again although not sure it is always stopped.
Does anyone have a good resource for explaining all these
messages?
