Nagendra,

I failed to understand you SQL.  I too am guilty of using generics to try to 
explain a SQL function.  Perhaps if you gave 
an example that was your real world example I might be of more assistance.  I 
realize that you might have to translate 
the file, field names and sample values into English.

Hi,

I have a query problem.

I want to insert a record into a table which is having two columns.
The values for this columns will come from different records of another
table but from the same column.
Whether a record puts the value into first or second field is determined
by another column's value in that record.

i.e. TABLEa      fld1      fld2
      TABLEb     xxx      n
Here TABLEb has multiple records.
Now a record is to be inserted into TABLEa.
The fld1 takes the value of xxx where n value is say 2.
The fld2 takes the value of xxx where n value is say 4.
