Who from, Lansa? I had a friend who worked for them for a while out in
Australia and claimed at the time that it "knocked Synon into a cocked
hat". Maybe, but not in market terms as far as I can see. However, if you
make yourself a Lansa specialist there is probably a good niche for you.

A lot of new things have happened since you've been away. We have ILE and
RPG/IV, we have Java, we have client-server, AS/400 server and web enabled
AS/400's. However, you can still go a long, long way with just RPG/III in
spite of what IBM may tell you. It's just impossible in my view to point
you in any particular direction. I'd say first get your job, then see which
way your employer is headed, plunge in and swim strongly. Actually
Midrange-l is not a bad place to start. Every possible topic is discussed
(except church organs :-)).
