SNA is a suite of networking protocols (analogous to TCP/IP).
SNADS is distribution protocol from SNA suite (SNA Distribution Services).
SNADS on AS/400 is an operating system component, which uses SNADS
protocols to exchange data over SNA network.
5250 Passthrough is a remote access protocol for remote 5250 terminal
emulation (analogous to TELNET).
5250 Passthrough is also an operating system component on AS/400 which
provides above service - STRPASTHR is a client portion; there's also a
server portion.

Also there is SNA Passthrough, also supported by AS/400, which should not
be confused with 5250 Passthrough, because these have nothing in common.

I'm sure the gurus will correct me if I'm wrong, thereby providing me
with another opportunity to learn... but I think STRPASTHR is a function
of SNADS. How about using TELNET?

We have two AS400s connected VIA T1 and TCP/IP. Is it possible to be on
a
dumb terminal at one location and passthru to the other with that TCP/IP
connection. There is no existing SNADS connection between the two
boxes.
