Scott, I have a copy of the Midrange Computing utility, but I don't think it'll work with RPG IV. If you can't find the code on the Midrange Computing web site, I can send it your way. The basic concept is that you spin through all the external file descriptions, store the field names and attributes (length!) so you can calculate the start position for the DDS from the end position in the O spec.
