Well, this really is one of those "your mileage will vary" issues.  If
the CISC system is not overloaded for the activity that is still on it,
there does not seem to be a noticeable performance difference.  

The performance differences that are noticed do not seem to relate to
TCP/IP.  That is, they are just as bad for twinax-attached users as for
TCP/IP-attached users.
