Previous respondents have mentioned ERRSFL, but I fail to see how that will help
in your case.  As someone else mentioned, user education would appear to be
useful.  I would try to teach them to avoid using the regular up-down-right-left
arrow keys and, instead, teach them to use the tab, left tab, new line, and
field exit keys.  Remember, you _can_ teach "old dogs" new tricks!

What are your users using for AS/400 terminals?  At my current site, we are
using Client Access for Win95 V3R1M3 and I've found that I can just tab my way
out of a keyboard lock caused by keying something in a non-input area.  Pretty
sure this isn't available for dumb terminals, but other 5250 emulations may give
you some options.
