Does the display file have PUTOVR in place?

Turning it off on just the first write of the window might fix that.

It had ASSUME but not KEEP.  Adding KEEP made no difference, whether
added in program A or B.

Booth,
Does program B display file have the dummy record format with the
KEEP/ASSUME 
keywords? If not, try it.
